It has been an interesting year (for many reasons!) and while I haven’t been making much art, I have had several shows. The most recent one was the ‘Altars, Shrines, and Amulets’ traveling show which was curated by Gay Schempp, an encaustic artist from Winsted, CT. The last stop on this wonderful show was at Dennis Bradbury’s gallery onĀ  22 Haviland St. in South Norwalk, CT. I was fortunate to meet several other artists and Gallery owners and also gave a (very unprepared) talk about my work. Most of the participating artists were in attendance.
Lots of things in store for 2018! I shall keep you posted.

Opening night was wonderful and all 8 artists were in attendance as well as the staff and everyone who helped with the show. If there is a chance for you to get to the library and see it in Falls Village, please do so! If not, it is a traveling exhibit and the next stop is at the Underground Gallery in Collinsville and thereafter it shall go to the Havilland Gallery in South Norwalk until Christmas.

Please come to the David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village, CT on August 25th for the opening reception of the traveling show, ‘Altars, Shrines and Amulets’ curated by Gay Schempp. The reception is from 5 to 7 pm and will be open to the public during normal library hours until September 23rd. The second stop on this venue will be the Underground Gallery in Collinsville, CT.

I will have about 10 of my pieces on display at the Simsbury Public Library located at 725 Hopmeadow St, Simsbury, CT 06070 during the month of August. They will be hanging on the West Wall at the Library.

Finally finished this having started a few years ago but it just wasn’t ‘correct’ (to me at least) but thanks to my son it now hangs in my Solo Show upstairs at the Gallery on the Green in Canton, CT.

Turning Point 2016

From March 17th through April 16th there will be several shows going on at the Gallery on the Green in Canton, CT. In the main Founder’s Gallery downstairs will be the ‘Word Art’ exhibit, curated by Kent McCoy; upstairs in the Spotlight Gallery will be works by Marlene Mayes; and in the main gallery upstairs I shall have a solo show titled ‘My Journey’.
Opening reception for all three shows will be Saturday March 18th from 6 to 9pm. The public is cordially invited to attend.
